Welcome!

Hello parents, guardians, and students! My name is Ms. Lisa Hodges and I teach geographySmile. I want to welcome you to a new school year and say that I am looking forward to getting to know each of you in the upcoming year! I am excited to see what this year brings and am confident that it will be a successful year. I keep an open door policy and you are always welcome in my classroom. I will start off with a little bit about me...

I attended and graduated from Benedictine University, receiving my Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences - History, as well as an endorsement in Spanish. I have known that I wanted to teach since I was 6 years old and have stuck with my life calling, unlike most kids who change their mind each week about what they want to be when they grow up. I love to have fun & enjoy life and I hope to impart some of that enthusiasm to my students! I love sports, playing them (preferably softball, basketball) and watching them (especially Chicago sports). I enjoy traveling around the world and hope to do more of it in my lifetime. I have 2 sister-in-laws who are from different countries (China & Argentina) which has spurred my interest in learning about different cultures & places. As I teach, I hope to instill my appreciation for and fascination of the world in my students and help guide them to success. If you have any questions or ever need to talk to me, please don't hesitate to contact me at lisa_hodges@ben.edu or (000) 414-1921.

The mediocre teacher tells.
The good teacher explains.
The superior teacher demonstrates.
The great teacher inspires.
